Holidays in Traben-Trarbach & Surroundings
The Art Nouveau town of Traben-Trarbach not only offers beautiful, well-preserved Art Nouveau houses, but also a very special experience with “Underworld Tours” to explore the town underground with its many interconnected wine cellars. The unique “Wine Night Market” also takes place here from the 1st Advent to the beginning of January, a Christmas market that is interconnected in the cellar vaults and thus invites you to enjoy a stroll in any weather.
Back on the surface, you can celebrate with a hearty wine tasting and experience the diversity of Moselle wines at the same time. Our winegrowers offer guided tours of the town or through the vineyards!
The view from Grevenburg Castle, which towers above the twin town, is simply stunning! Walking uphill to Starkenburg or downhill from there to Grevenburg, hiking in the Moselle mountains is a very special experience!
In the old Mont-Royal fortress, you can explore the corridors of the “old French”, test and train your fitness in the climbing garden right next to it and then fortify yourself in the small restaurant at the airfield and watch the take-offs and landings of the motor and glider planes.
The old doctor's town of Bernkastel-Kues still has many well-preserved half-timbered houses. Small alleyways invite you to take a leisurely stroll. Landshut Castle can be reached by car or on foot, and a restaurant offers not only tasty treats but also a fantastic view of the town.
In Cochem, it's not just the Cochem Castle that attracts visitors, but also the cozy little streets and half-timbered houses and a mustard mill where you can “heat up”.
Those who prefer a quieter pace are sure to be delighted on a stroll through the many small, very inviting Moselle villages! Old winegrowers' cottages, where small or large meals and refreshments are often offered, make up the typical Moselle flair.
You can quickly reach Wittlich via the Hochmoselbrücke bridge or via Zeltingen past Machern Monastery (where you can stop for a bite to eat!). The district town is located on the small river Lieser, around the market square or the square on the Lieser you can shop in peace and quiet and enjoy coffee, cake and ice cream (or other things)....
Thanks to the good highway connection, it is now only a good 30 minutes to Trier. However, you should take your time to visit the old, beautiful Roman city! The Porta Nigra, the main market square, the cathedral, the Basilica of Constantine, the Imperial Baths and the amphitheater: everyone should see it once!
